BRAKKE CONSULTING VIEWPOINT

Congratulations to the Banfield management team in the completion of another successful Pet Healthcare Industry Summit.  The program was both informative and thought stimulating regarding the US economy, US political scene and various issues facing the veterinary profession. We also want to congratulate John Payne on his retirement from active management at Banfield the end of 2011.  Another well-done accomplishment John!

This week you’ll note there were a number of new products and investments in the animal health space announced.  A number of these are significant and provide some nice opportunities for growing the market.  We’re always appreciative of investments in animal health to keep the flow of innovation moving forward in these challenging economic times.

Which brings me to the topic of the Kansas City Animal Health Investment Forum.  If you’ve not already registered for this event; please do so in the next few days - the deadline for registration is August 23.  You can register at http://www.kcanimalhealthforum.com/register/ .  There are some interesting new companies presenting their technology on August 30th in KC. See you all there!!

Have a great weekend and stay cool!!
