Ron is an industry veteran with over 40 years in the animal health, pet and veterinary business. In his career he has been involved in dozens of transactions representing both the buyer and the seller. The majority of Ron’s time in the firm is spent on assisting senior management clients in new business development, either buying or selling a company or brokering new technology. In addition, Ron is involved in the recruitment of senior executives in the industry for numerous companies, and coordinates and participates in a wide variety of consulting projects.
Joel Adamson MBA
Joel Adamson specializes in business development and marketing assignments, especially those involving products for companion animals. His background and recent work gives him strong skills and insights that are especially useful in assisting clients considering new market channel entries, exploring intellectual property licensing opportunities, seeking industry insights, and handling due diligence work. He brings extensive experience in various over-the-counter channels (OTC) and consumer packaged goods to assignments.
Ken specializes in recruiting, including all species and sectors of the animal health business. His 28 years in the animal health industry encompassed all levels of sales and sales management, providing Ken an extensive network of contacts within the industry. Ken has filled over 100 positions since joining Brakke Consulting in 2001, including sales and marketing; veterinarians into industry; research and development; and all levels of management.
Lynn Fondon DVM, MBA
Lynn Fondon specializes in managing market research projects and developing market segment analyses, and has over a decade of experience in conducting both primary and secondary research. Her background as a practicing veterinarian offers clients a resource with an understanding of both the business and medical aspects of the animal health market, as well as an invaluable “real-world” perspective of veterinary medicine. She is also the editor of Brakke Consulting’s weekly electronic newsletter.
Jay is an experienced project manager whose background includes sales and marketing experience in the pet food, livestock feed, and veterinary markets. His work with Brakke focuses on executive search and both proprietary and multi-client market research project management. Examples include the design and management of major multi-client market research projects such as the Manufacturers’ Sales force Effectiveness and Distributor Effectiveness Studies that are used by many clients as benchmarking tools.
John Mannhaupt MBA
John concentrates his activities on business analysis, transactions, and recruiting assignments. His financial background makes him the go-to person for evaluations of businesses and technologies that are either looking for a new owner or seeking to enter the market. He provides a quantitative slant on major strategic decisions. John also specializes in recruiting assignments for positions that are particularly challenging to fill.
Kevin Scott is a 30 year veteran of the animal health industry. His background includes both companion and food-producing animal health, along with key knowledge of the pharmaceutical, parasiticide, vaccine and diagnostic segments. His background in sales, marketing, management and business development enables him to provide Brakke Consulting clients with market information, licensing opportunities and executive recruiting.
John Volk is an expert analyst and project manager. With deep experience in the companion animal, equine and food animal markets, he regularly assists clients with strategy development, evaluation of business opportunities, and due diligence on potential acquisitions. John is also one of Brakke's most experienced market research experts, managing both proprietary and multi-user studies. He is particularly noted for authoring two landmark reports on the business practices of veterinarians that are widely referenced in the profession.
Jessica Goodman Lee CVPM
With over a decade of experience as a veterinary hospital administrator, Jessica uses her diverse background to encourage practices to expand their frame of reference with regards to running a successful business. Her creative approach to client education tools, branding, process streamlining, and superior client service and veterinary care have resulted in great success for those with whom she has worked. An avid researcher and reader, she trains hospital management teams to take responsibility for staying abreast of medical and pharmaceutical innovations as well as industry standards of care. Jessica has created several practice tools, including a customized mentorship/coaching program to increase the retention rate for incoming associate veterinarians.
Susan Warren has a strong business background and a high level of expertise in the field of diagnostics and animal health. Her diverse experience includes sales management, sales training, strategic planning, program development and group facilitation. Susan’s work with Brakke is focused on sales and leadership training, strategic planning, business development, new product launches and executive search. Examples of her recent work include negotiating agreements with and between veterinary organizations and corporate entities; developing customized sales training programs and facilitating customer focus groups in advance of new product launch and business expansion.
Atsuo Hata DVM
Atsuo Hata has served over 50 years in the animal health industries in Japan. His analysis and information on the Japanese market as well as Far East countries has a reputation for reliability in working with major and minor global animal health companies. He specializes in marketing, market analysis, regulatory affairs and new business development as a veterinary consultant.
Richard Miles provides a broad range of consulting services in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. He is experienced in international product introduction, marketing and sales management, market research including development and operation of veterinary clinic, farmer and distribution panel surveys, executive search, sales and management training. Richard speaks English and three Southern African languages.
