BRAKKE CONSULTING VIEWPOINT

This has been a great week for the animal health industry. The inaugural VMX meeting in Orlando provided a broad program that allowed every company and/or individual with an interest in animal health to participate in one form or another. We were particularly impressed with the number of product and services launches prior to and during this meeting. It is interesting that many of the launches are not health products but products or services based on IT technology in one form or another. Providing services or programs to improve the health of animals via improved communications and monitoring has become almost as important that therapies or preventive products.

We hope you read with interest the summary report regarding the newly released Merck Animal Health Veterinary Wellbeing Study that was released at VMX. We encourage each of our readers to learn more about this important new study so that you and/or your firm can become involved in assisting the veterinary profession in addressing this health issue.

Have a great weekend!

Ron Brakke
